Woman purchases banana with metal inside

Lawrenceburg Now

A West Point resident spoke with Lawrenceburg Police officers on Monday, indicating that she had found a piece of metal in a banana her son was eating.

The woman told officers that she bought bananas at Kroger on Sunday. She had given her son one to eat on Monday. While he was eating it she noticed there was something shiny inside. She told officers she found a piece of metal inside that might be a fishhook.

The woman was on her way to return the banana to the store when she stopped by the police department. She had spoken with store officials and they asked that she bring it to the store so they could get a picture to send to their corporate headquarters so it could be investigated further.

The woman said she wanted to file the report to make people aware of what had happened.
